Dr. Magi M. Khalil is a new oncologist with Peninsula Cancer Institute. Khalil is principally based at the Cancer Center on the campus of Riverside Walter Reed Hospital in Gloucester, but also has privileges at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News.

She diagnoses and treats cancer and blood disorders in adults, with patients referred for her specialized care, by other medical professionals.

After living most of her life in New York City, Khalil said she wanted a change in environment and decided to accept the opportunity to work for PCI. Khalil said she has been interested in doing research since high school and had internships at several medical centers in New York City during her school years.

Khalil began working in Gloucester June 1. Most recently, she worked for more than 3½ years as an assistant attending physician at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York.
