All courts and county offices in Gloucester and Mathews will close for the Christmas holiday at noon Friday, and remain closed through Tuesday. They will reopen with normal hours on Wednesday, Dec. 27.

DMV customer service centers will be closed Saturday, Monday and Tuesday.

Gloucester libraries will close at 2 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and remain closed through Tuesday, reopening for normal hours on Wednesday, Dec. 27. Their book drops will close at 2 p.m. on Saturday and will reopen at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Mathews Memorial Library will close for Christmas at noon on Friday and remain closed through Tuesday. In addition, the library will close at 5 p.m. Wednesday through next Friday, Dec. 27-29.

Gloucester schools, which closed Wednesday, and Mathews schools, which closed at 1 p.m. Wednesday, will remain closed through Jan. 1, returning on Jan. 2.

Post offices in both counties will be closed Christmas Day, Monday, only.
