County offices in Gloucester and Mathews will be closed on Friday for New Year’s Day, along with post offices, DMV customer service centers, and waste facilities in both Gloucester and Mathews.
All courts in both counties will be closed both New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
The Mathews County Commissioner of the Revenue and Treasurer’s offices were closed for the holiday on Wednesday and remain closed through Friday, reopening for normal hours on Monday, Jan. 4.
Libraries in both counties will be closed Friday through Sunday, Jan. 1-3.
Schools in Gloucester and Mathews will be back in session on Monday following Winter Break.
