All post offices, county offices, and waste facilities in Gloucester and Mathews will be closed on Friday in celebration of New Year’s Day.

Circuit courts will also be closed Friday only, but general district courts in the two counties will be closed both Thursday and Friday.

Gloucester libraries will be closed Friday only, while Mathews Memorial Library will be closed both Thursday and Friday.

DMV customer service centers will be closed Friday and Saturday.

ABC stores in both counties will be closed Friday, but the Gloucester store will remain open until 8:15 p.m. on Thursday, while the Mathews store will remain open until 8 p.m. The Gloucester Point store will observe its normal 9 p.m. closing.
