Offices close for Independence Day

All post offices, courts, county offices, and DMV customer service centers in Gloucester and Mathews will be closed Friday in observance of the July 4th holiday. The E-ZPass office and the Mathews Transfer Station will be closed Friday, as well.

Gloucester school facilities will close at 3 p.m. daily all week and be closed as usual on Friday, while Mathews school facilities will be closed today, in addition to the regular Friday summer closing.

Gloucester libraries will close at 5 o’clock today and remain closed Friday, then open for normal hours on Saturday. Mathews Memorial Library will close at 6 p.m. today and remain closed all weekend, reopening for normal hours on Monday.

Gloucester Waste Management’s administrative offices will be closed Friday, but the landfill and convenience centers will be open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. ABC stores will be open until 7 p.m. Friday. ...
