All county offices in Gloucester and Mathews will be closed Friday and Monday in observance of the Christmas holiday. Courts and clerks’ offices will be closed the same days, as well as an additional half day today, when they will close at noon.

All libraries and DMV customer service centers will be closed from Friday through Monday.

Gloucester County Public Schools closed on Wednesday and will remain closed throughout the holidays, reopening on Tuesday, Jan. 3. Mathews County Public Schools will be closed from this Monday, Dec. 19 through Monday, Jan. 2.

All waste facilities in Gloucester and Mathews will be closed on Sunday, with the Mathews Transfer Station additionally closing at 1 p.m. Saturday.

ABC stores in both counties will close at 6 p.m. Saturday and remain closed on Sunday, reopening for normal hours on Monday.

Post offices in both counties will be closed only on Monday. ...
