O.J. Cole, 88, of Mathews, died on Jan. 4, 2023.

Cole and his wife, Lauretta, moved to Mathews County in 1996. He had served on the Mathews County Board of Supervisors, was a past president of the Mathews County Chamber of Commerce, a past treasurer of the Piankatank Ruritan Club, a member of the American Legion Post 83, and owned Cole Supply in Mathews.

Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews, is in charge of arrangements. The funeral will be held from 4-6 p.m. this Saturday at the funeral home.
