Nurtury offers community recycling program

The Nurtury, located on Main Street in Gloucester, began its recycling program last year with hopes of becoming the center of recycling for the community.

Loree, Alexis and Sean Powell of the Nurtury visited Alaska last summer and were amazed with how clean and green everything was there, especially in Denali National Park. Loree said that the state is adamant about retaining its natural environment even in their largest populated cities.

They decided to partner with TerraCycle, a recycling program that recycles items that are usually not accepted for recycling such as razors. TerraCycle is also used in Denali National Park.
