The National Park Service is looking for temporary park guides to fill multiple positions in Hampton Roads, including openings with the Captain John Smith Chesapeake National Historic Trail.

The positions will tentatively start in April 2021 and end around late September 2021. Job responsibilities and pay are at the GS-5 level. Duties will include:

—Staffing the information counter in a visitor center and answering visitors’ questions;—Providing visitor services including assisting with lost articles, car trouble, weather information, and other safety hazards; and,—Presenting tours and talks including introductions to films, map talks, and exhibit interpretation.Some local travel will be required and kayak/canoe experience is a plus.
