North shop offers crocheted, knitted items

Mary’s Crafts opened recently on Route 14 at North.

Owner Mary Davis said the building that houses her new business has housed a variety of other businesses through the years including a service station, a lawnmower repair shop, and a consignment shop. Davis is offering a totally new approach to the location as she sells mostly crocheted and knitted items she makes herself.

Davis makes and sells crocheted and knitted handbags and hats, along with felt blankets that she purchases. There are many Christmas items in the shop including crocheted stockings, Davis said, and she plans for this to be a “Christmas year-round” place to purchase gifts, as well as an assortment of yarns. In addition, Davis plans to sell ponchos and cardigan jackets that she makes herself. Soon, she plans to offer knitting and crocheting classes.
