Norfolk man arrested for Gloucester Walmart thefts

A 31-year-old Norfolk man was arrested Jan. 29 after allegedly stealing over $6,200 worth of smartwatches and other electronics from the Gloucester Walmart between Jan. 26 and 28.

Gloucester Sheriff’s Office Capt. J.W. Schick Jr. said that a man entered the Gloucester Walmart during the overnight hours between Jan. 26 and 27, popped open a locked display case and removed four Apple watches valued at more than $1,200. He left the area in a vehicle.

Schick said the same man re-entered Walmart the following night and stole 10 additional Apple watches, an HP laptop computer and an Apple iPhone, all with a total value of over $5,000. 

On Jan. 29, Schick said GSO investigators identified the suspect as 31-year-old Kenshon D. Johnson of Norfolk and found him to be a fugitive from Chesapeake for similar incidents involving Walmart. He was also a fugitive from Virginia Beach for an unrelated incident.
