The Nook Books and Gifts, Gloucester Main Street, will be back with the second installation of its Poetry Night on Saturday from 6:30-8 o’clock. The store held its first Poetry Night in April in honor of National Poetry Month. The night’s featured poets are Chris “The Poetic Genius” Green, author of “Athazagoraphobia,” and J.M. Lee, author of “Learning to Swim.” Local poets Ryan Babarsky, Loralee Clark and Luz Schweig will also be giving readings. All other Poetry Night attendees will then be welcomed to take to the mic and read their own original poems. Winners of The Nook’s haiku contest will also be announced during Poetry Night. All entries are due by Friday at 5:30 p.m. and are accepted via email at thenookbooksandgifts@gmail.com. There are three competition categories: children ages four to 11, teens ages 12 to 17, and adults 18 and older. Winning poems will be published on The Nook’s social media pages and in store.
