No action taken following closed meeting

Mathews supervisors spent two hours on Tuesday evening in a closed session on issues regarding Hole in the Wall Waterfront Grill and the lawsuit the Gwynn’s Island restaurant has brought against the county, but they ended the evening without taking any action. The closed session was a continuation of one held during a meeting on Feb. 26 that had been called to hear an update on a new radio system and consider a resolution regarding the upcoming referendum on redistricting. The matters considered during the closed session were Virginia Code 2.2-3711(A)(3) the disposition of publicly held property—384 Old Ferry Road (the county-owned property where Hole in the Wall is located); Virginia Code 2.2-3711(A)(7) litigation regarding Hole in the Wall Waterfront Grill v the Mathews Board of Supervisors and Ramona Wilson in her capacity as county administrator; and Virginia Code 2.2-3711(A)(8) legal requirements applicable to settlement negotiations, the disposition of publicly held property, con...
