NNO receives donation for Steinway grand piano

The Northern Neck Orchestra has received a $300,000 anonymous donation, the majority of which will be used to purchase a Steinway concert grand piano for the orchestra at the planned Lancaster High School auditorium, announced Ammon G. Dunton Jr., chairman of the orchestra’s board of directors.
The Steinway, regarded as the gold standard of concert grand pianos, also would be available to other performing arts organizations and qualified student pianists under an agreement that will be negotiated with the Lancaster County School Board, Dunton added. The orchestra’s Music Director Michael Repper, an accomplished pianist, was engaged in a dialogue with Steinway on the purchase decision.
