NJROTC instructor appointed for GHS program

The Gloucester School Board appointed Norris Merkle of Norfolk as a senior NJROTC instructor at Gloucester High School in personnel actions taken during its Sept. 8 meeting. The appointment was effective Sept. 1.

The board accepted a resignation from Achilles Elementary Assistant Principal Mary Beth Preas, effective Sept. 30.

The board also accepted resignations from teacher assistants Chili Childress and Shannon Halterman, both effective Aug. 31; support services employee Jade Long, effective Sept. 8; support services employee Debbie Shorland, effective Sept. 4; support services employee Devin Heath, effective Sept. 4; support services employee Amy Pelfrey, effective Sept. 8; and teacher assistants Haley Ladner, effective Sept. 18, and Katty Ruiz, effective June 11.

Additional resignations were accepted from GHS STEM Academy co-advisor and National Honor Society advisor Katie Johnson, effective Sept. 8, and from GHS Head Swim Coach Allen Koederitz, also effective Sept. 8.
