Night biking, fishing to be held at Beaverdam Park

NIGHT FISHING: Night fishing will be held from 4 o’clock to midnight on Friday, Aug. 20 at Beaverdam Park. The fee is $5 per person, rentals available and fees apply. Deadline to register is Friday, Aug. 13.

NIGHT BIKING: Gloucester Parks, Recreation and Tourism will hold night biking at Beaverdam Park from 5:15-7:30 on Sept. 17. Bring your own bike and you must have at least an 800-lumen headlight and handlebar light. Cyclists will cover 5-6 miles. The fee is $3, and the deadline to register is Sept. 13.

BEST YEARS TRIPS: Gloucester PRT is again sponsoring Best Years Trips for ages 55 and over, with the 14-passenger bus taking a number of day trips. On Sept. 18, passengers will visit the Rice’s Hotel/Hughlett’s Tavern for a Farmers’ Market and Living History day in Heathsville, leaving at 8 a.m. and returning at 2:30 p.m. Lunch is on your own at the Tavern.
