Dr. Mark A. Huie opened a pediatric dentistry practice at Hayes on Aug. 3.

Huie owns a building adjacent to Tyndall Square with Ken Evans of Evans Allstate Insurance, which is located on Route 17 just north of Tyndall Square.

Huie has practiced in Newport News for more than 15 years. He operates the Hayes office now on Thursdays only, but plans to expand to coming here on Tuesdays as well, starting in the fall. Huie runs his Denbigh office on other weekdays.

He is assisted here by a staff of eight. Part of the 14-member staff from the larger Newport News office assist him here, while some only work there; several of the staff reside in Gloucester.

His clients are from age one through college. It’s important for parents to instill good dental practices for their children, he said.
