All courts, county offices, and DMV customer service centers in Gloucester and Mathews, and both Gloucester libraries will be closed Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 1 and 2, for the New Year’s holiday. The library book drops will be open both days.

Mathews Memorial Library will close at 5 p.m. today and Friday, and will be closed Saturday, Dec. 30 through Tuesday, Jan. 2 for the holiday.

Post offices in both counties will be closed only on Monday, Jan. 1.

ABC stores in Gloucester and Mathews will be open from noon to 9 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on New Year’s Day.

Gloucester waste facilities will be closed 

The Mathews Transfer Station will be closed on New Year’s Day only. ...
