New thrift store opens near Mathews Laundry

The Thrift Store opened in early May on Buckley Hall Road, in a small strip center near Mathews Laundry.

Owner Kennith Wainwright operates the store seven days a week. His brother-in-law, Charles Griffin, helps out occasionally. Wainwright and Griffin both reside in Gloucester.

Griffin said the store sells all types of used items, including clothing, books, music, fishing supplies, furniture, collectibles and electronics. In addition, the shop stocks some new military surplus items.

Wainwright previously owned a thrift shop at Ordinary.
