New Peasley principal looks to build on school’s successes

“So many great things have happened at this school already. I really want to build on those successes,” said Craig Reed, the new principal at Peasley Middle School. 

“This school has enjoyed good academic success. My goal is to push that envelope and make all the students successful,” Reed said. “I want to support those students who may not have made the mark, and support the teachers and help them improve.” 

Reed said his mother was a teacher, but it was his father who may have led him to a career in education. His dad was a cooperative extension agent and active with 4-H. One summer Reed worked as a 4-H camp counselor during his college years and taught canoeing. 

“One of the things I realized was that I really like working with kids,” Reed recounted. “I really didn’t know what I was going to do until that summer.”
