New pastor at Gloucester Point Baptist; April 2 installation planned

At a special congregational meeting on Sunday, March 12, after almost a year of searching for a pastor, the members of Gloucester Point Baptist Church were unanimous in their vote to call Pastor Dillon Evans as its new pastor.

Evans, 42, has more than 10 years’ pastoral experience and comes to Gloucester from Grace Bible Church in Protection, Kansas. Previously, he pastored two churches near his hometown of Aurora, Illinois, in the suburbs of Chicago. Evans holds a Master of Divinity from Sioux Falls Seminary and is nearing completion of his Ph.D. in Biblical Studies (Historical Theology) from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Evans summed up his ministerial philosophy by saying that “God has placed a calling on my life to be a shepherd that preaches the Gospel and loves the people.”
