York River Yacht Haven at Gloucester Point is under new ownership. Dallas, Texas-based Suntex Marinas purchased the local marina in late September, said Josalynn Claussen, director of marketing for Suntex. The company owns 16 other marinas across the United States and in the Caribbean.

"With the change in ownership, York River Yacht Haven will soon see more amenities, better services, and a new restaurant tenant to better serve our customers and make the boating experience the best it can be," said Chris Petty, president of Suntex Marinas. The Bacot family of Gloucester had owned the marina for many years.

All facilities are now open, except for the restaurant, Claussen said. She estimated it will take approximately two months for the restaurant to reopen.
