A.J. Cunningham is the new manager at Precision Tune Auto Care on Route 17, Hayes.

Cunningham, who had worked at several other auto repair shops in the region before, said the industry has changed in his years in the business. For example, the onboard computers are much more advanced now than when he first began as a store manager.

The computer diagnostics help technicians more readily identify problems with a vehicle, Cunningham said. Precision is currently offering a free vehicle holiday safety check to alert motorists to potential problems like low tire pressure or low fluid levels before they take to the road.

“We try to educate drivers,” Cunningham said. “We want them to be safe.”

Precision offers routine maintenance and repairs for all types of cars and light trucks, both domestic and foreign. The shop does not work on large tractor-trailers and farm equipment, he said, nor does it offer major collision repair. Services offered at the local store inclu...
