New Main Street business ‘definitely not a cookie-cutter shop’

Wilton Cottage & Garden held the grand opening of its new store on Gloucester’s Main Street March 27-28. Customers were offered refreshments and discounts on select products.

Aaron Ward of Deltaville has retrofitted the former state Alcoholic Beverage Control store into a combination garden and home décor shop. Customers enter the store through a garden-like setting with plants and a running fountain, and then proceed into the main showroom for a look at all types of new gifts, toys, home décor, jewelry and furniture.

Melanie Thompson of Gloucester is store manager, and said the plants, fountains, accessories and displays are all offered for sale.

In addition, the store has a limited supply of clothing—with more to be added in the upcoming months. Nearby shelves are filled with women’s totes and purses.

Guys don’t have to feel left out, as Wilton Cottage has a section that features men’s specialty gifts such as grooming kits. Ward als...
