Dawn South Sterling is a new associate at the Gloucester law firm Martin, Ingles & Ingles, Ltd.

Sterling, who grew up in Mathews, said she is excited to have the opportunity to return to this area to work. She was employed part-time at the Gloucester firm for several years while attending college.

Sterling said she joined Martin, Ingles & Ingles full-time on June 1. In her first few days on the job, she has often accompanied principal Breckenridge Ingles on cases. "I do a little bit of everything," she said, indicating she handles family matters, such as divorces and custody issues, as well as criminal law cases.

She became fascinated with legal matters while filing and performing other tasks at the Gloucester office while in college. She’s found that being a successful lawyer requires much preparation and research. "It’s a very tedious job," she said, but one that she thoroughly enjoys.
