New Gloucester staff begins orientation Monday

Gloucester County Public Schools will hold four consecutive days of orientation for new professional staff next week, beginning Monday. 

The orientation includes sessions with the GCPS human resources and finance departments, as well as a bus tour of the county. Next Thursday, the new teachers will head to their assigned schools to meet with principals and to start setting up their classrooms. 

The new professionals include 40 new licensed staff members, according to the human resources department. GCPS Human Resources Director Gwen Ciemniecki said she still has vacancies for an English teacher, technology teacher, guidance counselor and a special education coordinator. 

The human resources department said three new support services employees have been hired with interviews ongoing and six vacancies.
