New Gloucester eatery

Gloucester Pancake House, a new restaurant in a location familiar to many local diners, officially opened its doors on Oct. 26. Located in the same building that for many years housed the popular Sutton’s Restaurant, the Pancake House (6690 Sutton Road, next door to the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society) is open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. The full menu is available all day long—a variety of omelets, pancakes, waffles and other breakfast fare to burgers, subs and other lunchtime favorites. The Pancake House is owned by Atilio and Mary Benitez, who also own two other area restaurants—Las Tunas right up the street in Gloucester, as well as Los Patrones in Kilmarnock. The restaurateurs have thoroughly revamped the former Sutton’s Restaurant, inside and out. Established in 1945, Sutton’s had been a fixture in Gloucester and was at that location since 1961.
