New GHS principal sees ‘all the ingredients’ for a great school

 

Nate Collins has made the move from a school division central office position and back to a building-level administrative job with his new position as principal of Gloucester High School.

“I love working with kids and I love working with teachers. I like to be involved with parents and academic success, and I like to be in the classroom,” he said of wanting to get back to a campus setting. He last served as a school principal in 2007.

Collins said he was familiar with Gloucester and it was among the places he was considering as he looked to make a career change. When he saw the GHS principal vacancy, he was quick to apply. 

“One of the things that attracted me to this school was that the range and quality of programs is very strong,” Collins said. “I felt comfortable here from the very first day. I’ve also been impressed with the teachers and the time I’ve seen them put in over the summer.”
