New faculty welcomed at Ware Academy

Ware Academy welcomed several new faculty and staff members this month along with 29 new students. 

“Our teachers are seasoned educators ready to embrace the need for experiential learning to ensure deeper conceptual understanding,” said Dawn Fleet, Ware’s Interim Head of School. 

Brian Risley is Ware Academy’s new Upper School math teacher. He holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master of science degree in education with a specialty in mathematics from Queens College. He has additionally achieved 31 credits in math from City University of New York. 

Risley has over 22 years of experience in math instruction and comes to Ware from Essex County Public Schools, where he was a math instructional specialist.

Joy LaRue is the new Upper School science teacher. She holds a bachelor of science degree in biology from Christopher Newport University and a master’s degree in secondary education from Old Dominion University....
