Smiles of Mathews, a new dental practice on Cricket Hill Road at Hudgins offering family and cosmetic dentistry, held its grand opening last Thursday.

Owner and CEO Dr. James A. Burden, D.D.S., welcomed his new associate, Dr. Aaron Marks, D.M.D., who will be the regular on-site dentist, assisted by Burden as necessary.

Burden said he has been practicing in Williamsburg for over 30 years and wanted to expand his practice to someplace within an hour’s drive from the city. He heard that the former owner, Dr. William C. Barnard, was retiring and felt that was a good opportunity, especially since Barnard had already modernized the office. Burden said the office will offer more services than before, including full-mouth reconstruction, implants, oral surgery and Invisalign.

“Any dental need, we can do it here,” he said. “We employ any modern technology.”
