New DAR member

The Augustine Warner Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution recently welcomed Fran James of Bena as a member. After a two-year records search, aided by Augustine Registrar Winona Pearson, James was able to provide the necessary documentation on her patriot ancestor, Almon Dunston, who was born around 1763 and died Aug. 29, 1837 in Gloucester. He served in the Revolutionary War as a private in the Second Virginia State Regiment. In 1814, he married Alice Bristow.
