A graveside service for Netha Ruby Pate, 85, of Gloucester, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 9, in Peninsula Memorial Park, Newport News. She died June 3, 2017.

She was a waitress at the Blue Star Diner in Newport News for many years. 

She was preceded in death by parents, George N. and Brynina S. McGuire, and her husband, Donald Eugene Pate Sr.

Survivors include six children, Dr. Terry White, Donald Beale Jr., Gerald Beale, John Beale, Steven Beale and Kenneth Walker; her twin sister, Netha “Ruth” Alexander; 22 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, June 8, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. The graveside service will be officiated by the Rev. Jason Van Bemmel. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery.
