Nelson appointed to York seat on school board

The Gloucester County School Board unanimously approved the appointment of Elisa A. Nelson of Hayes as the interim York Magisterial District representative on the board, effective July 5, during its meeting last Thursday at the T.C. Walker Education Center.

Nelson was the only candidate for the interim York seat and her appointment ends on Dec. 31. She is also the only candidate on the ballot for a four-year term in the York district seat in the November general election. 

Nelson attended Gloucester  County Public Schools and graduated from Gloucester High School in 1996. She has been a licensed insurance agent since 1979 and owns a Hayes insurance business. 

Nelson was president of the T.C. Walker Elementary School PTA for two years until the school was closed in 2012.
