CONCERT: Visit Yorktown will be hosting a Sound of Summer Concert Series every Thursday from 7 to 9:30 p.m. starting on Thursday, June 2. This series will end on Aug. 11. It will be held on the Riverwalk Landing in Yorktown. All of the concerts are free to the public.

FESTIVAL: The eight annual Arts in the Middle Fine Arts Festival will be on June 4-5. It will be held at the Hewick Plantation in Urbanna. There will be fine arts, literary arts, live music and local cuisine.

BASH: The Girl Scouts of the Colonial Coast will be hosting a Splish Splash Mermaid Bash at Camp Skimino in Williamsburg on Sunday, June 5. This event will be from 2:30-3:30 p.m. Guests will make mermaid puppets, play games, and learn about all there is to know about being a Girl Scout. YOGA: There will be a yoga session at the Watermen’s Museum on June 6 from 6-8 p.m. This event is monthly on the first Monday. Jill Winkowski is the instructor. CELEBRATION: A July 4th Celebration will be at Urbanna Town Marina at Upton’s Point. At 6 p.m., there will be the boat parade on Urbanna Creek, and a contest for the best boat decorations. Fireworks display starts at 9 p.m. over Urbanna Creek. You can anchor your boat or watch from land.
MONDAY, JULY 4
CELEBRATION: A July 4th 8k Run/Walk will be held on July 4 at the Historic Yorktown Battlefield tour roads. Participants are to park and gather at the Yorktown High School courts. All participants will receive a T-shirt and all finishers will receive a medal. Top three finishers will receive awards. Refreshments and post-race celebration will occur after you finish. The July 4 celebration continues at the Yorktown Waterfront until 10 p.m., culminating in a fireworks display over the York River.

GAMES: Urbanna Cornhole Tournament will be held on July 10. The event starts at 1 p.m. and signup starts at 11:30 a.m. $20 a person. This will be held on Rappahannock Avenue (next to Tabor Park in Urbanna).

CELEBRATION: Urbanna will celebrate the community’s Founders Day on Saturday, Aug. 6. The balladeers fife and drums will start the festivities at 10 a.m. in the heart of Urbanna. A presentation will also be held at Urbanna Baptist Church at 11 a.m. More details are soon to come on the Town of Urbanna’s website.
