Nearly $1.3M in scholarships awarded at GHS

Gloucester High School seniors received $1,276,874.50 in scholarship awards during the Scholarship Night program at the T.C. Walker Education Center on June 6. The students received scholarships as follows:

Briana Abdul-Raqib—$500 Gloucester Kiwanis Club Scholarship; $1,000 T.C. Walker Memorial Scholarship; $4,000 Dr. Jean Pugh Memorial Scholarship; $500 Abingdon Episcopal Church Men’s Club; $1,000 Bethel Elementary Scholarship; $1,000 MCM Tri-County Choir Corarine Marsh Smith Scholarship, and $1,000 Abingdon Ruritan Club, renewable for four years.

Austin Abraham—$1,000 GHS Band Boosters Elaine Sydney Scholarship.

Briana Allen—$7,240 U.S. Army College Fund Scholarship.

Erica August—$1,000 Jimmy Harris Memorial Scholarship.

Caroline Baldwin—$1,000 Gloucester Retired Educators Association Scholarship.

Madison Barrineau—$3,500 Old Dominion University, renewable for four years.

Oakley Bonney—$500 Bill Forrest and John Raynes Memorial Scholarship.

Erick Boscana—$500 Danny Burns Memorial Scholarship; $1,000 Maude Booker Memorial Scholarship; $500 GHS Band Boosters Michael Haury Scholarship; University of Mary Washington, $4,000 renewable for four years, $200 D.A.R. Augustine Warner Chapter Good Citizen.

Cierra Bowman—$1,000 American Red Cross.

Tori Bridges—$1,000 Gloucester Point Rotary Club Scholarship; $500 Dirk Rhodes Memorial Scholarship, and $3,000 Arena Stone Memorial Scholarship.

Cassidy Brown—$1,000 Old Dominion University, renewable for four years.

Hannah Campbell—$1,000 Etta Anderton Memorial Scholarship.

Bryanna Carter—$1,000 T.C. Walker Memorial Scholarship, and $800 Petsworth Elementary Scholarship.

Ellis Finney—$1,600 First United Baptist Church Scholarship.

Bailey Hamilton—$12,000 Shenandoah University, renewable for four years.

Mitchell Haraburda—$3,000 Virginia Commonwealth University Virginia Merit Award, renewable for four years; $1,000 Gloucester Rotary Club Scholarship, renewable for four years, and $1,000 VCU Emerging Leader Scholarship, renewable for eight semesters.

Ian Hardee—$1,000 Gloucester-Mathews Farm Bureau Scholarship; and $500 Bayport Credit Union Scholarship.

Hannah Harris—$14,000 Randolph-Macon College, renewable for four years.

Mary Haydon—$1,700 White Stone United Methodist Church Scholarship; $1,000 St. Mary’s Whitechapel Episcopal Church Scholarship, and $300 Robert and Linda Treakle Scholarship Fund. 

Brittany Haywood—$1,000 Abingdon Woman’s Club Scholarship; $1,000 Mullins/Edmonds Athletic Scholarship; $1,000 Gloucester Rotary Club Scholarship, and $500 GHS Athletic Boosters Club Scholarship. 

Madison Hogge—$1,000 GHS Athletic Boosters Club Scholarship; $1,000 Gloucester Rotary Club Scholarship, and $2,000 Ellis W. Rowe Scholarship.

Derrick Hudgins—$1,000 Joyce Bascombe Memorial Scholarship.
