Mathews native Dr. Sterling Ransone, third from left, has been elected President of the American Academy of Family Physicians, a national organization with 135,000 members. AAFP executives were in Mathews recently to interview Ransone and to create footage for videotape about his background and life. The video will be shown to academy members when Ransone takes office on Sept. 28, and will be available for public viewing in early October at www.aafp.org.
