National Night Out Tuesday at MHS

National Night Out, a free-for-everybody, fun-for-all event, will be held from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday in the football stadium at Mathews High School, 9889 Buckley Hall Road, Mathews.
Sponsored by the Mathews County Sheriff’s Office, the family event gives residents a chance to interact with local law enforcement in a relaxed, fun environment.
“It promotes the community’s partnership with law enforcement,” said organizer Sgt. Julianna Hill of the MCSO.
The evening will include free live entertainment by The Deloreans, called “the ultimate ’80s tribute band”; all kinds of free food, from hot dogs and hamburgers to cotton candy and sno-cones; and free games such as corn hole and YMCA-led games for children. There will be bounce houses, obstacle courses, a petting zoo by Red Barn Farms of Mathews, a dunking booth where county officials can be dunked free of charge, a foam party, and more.
