NAOMI IRENE CRUMP MUSE

Naomi Irene Crump Muse, 93, of Gloucester, formerly of Richmond and Blacksburg, died Sept. 21, 2012.

She was the only child of Bessie Browder and Milton E. Crump. She was predeceased by her “Honey,” Frank Seay Muse, in 1983 and her eldest daughter, Gerry Muse Harvey, in 2009.

She is survived by her half-sister, Shirley Crump Irvine of Utah; sister-in-law, Susan “Cricket” Bull of Oregon; four children, Mary Muse Bawol, Michael Muse, Susan Muse Fisher, and Sally Muse Malone; six grandchildren, Lisa Harvey Orend, Kristin Harvey May, Matthew Bawol, Marisha Bawol Fiden, Todd Muse, and Heather Fisher Jenkins; 12 great-grandchildren, Ian, Daryl, and Tracy Orend, Alex, Dustin, and Garrett May, Philip and Nicolai Fiden, Dyson and Kathryn Muse Bawol, and Chandler and Rachel Jenkins.

Naomi was blessed with a brilliant and inquisitive mind and a gift for public speaking. She was graduated from John Marshall HS in 1935 at the age of 15, and married her sweetheart, “Honey,” in 1937. Mama passed her voracious love of reading, animals, and the arts to her children, and her door was always open to their friends. She will be sorely and forever missed.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Church of St. Therese, Gloucester, Va.
