Naomi Burrell Banks was born on July 4, 1917 to Molegold and Annabell Burrell. She departed this life on Dec. 7, 2012 at Peekskill Community Hospital in Peekskill, N.Y.

At an early age, she joined First Baptist Amburg and remained a devoted member. She attended Middlesex Public Schools and was employed as a caregiver until her retirement.

Naomi was preceded in death by her parents, Molegold and Annabell Burrell; husband, Robert Banks; brothers, Chester and Thomas Burrell; sisters, Elaine Boyd, Janice Smith, and Annabell Marcella Harris; brothers-in-law, Linwood Smith and David Harris; and sister-in-law, Clarice Burrell.

Naomi leaves to cherish her memory a brother, Raymond Burrell Sr. of Deltaville; six nieces; three nephews; several great-nieces and great-nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church Amburg, Deltaville, Va. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Carlton B. Johnson.
