NANCY PEARL HOGGE FORREST

Nancy Pearl Hogge Forrest of Gloucester Point, died on Monday, Sept. 5, 2022. She was born June 19, 1933 in Achilles, Virginia, was a graduate of Achilles High School class of 1950, and still had many treasured friendships from her days there. She was a member of Union Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star, Colonial Chapter. She lived a beautiful life in a home that she cherished overlooking the York River. She enjoyed sunsets, deep conversations with visitors, creating memorable family holiday celebrations at her home, as well as her relationships with her neighbors which yielded multi-generational friendships.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wesley Forrest Jr., and her parents, Hobson and Pearl Hogge. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Sue Robbins and husband Douglas; two granddaughters, Dr. Kimberly Robbins (Dr. Bryan Sandler), Sara Robbins (Jonathan Hall), and two great-granddaughters, Emmanuelle and Merryn Sandler. She is also survived by her brother, John William “Billy” Hogge and wife Patricia; sister, Martha Elizabeth “Betsy” Oliver, and beloved cousin, Betty Francis Smith. The family received friends at Hogg Funeral Home on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2022, from 4-5:30 p.m. A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 12, 2022, at Union Baptist Church, Achilles, followed by interment at Rosewell Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Hayes. Flowers were welcome; however, if you wish to make a donation in Nancy Pearl’s honor, please do so to the charitable organization that means the most to you. The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to Dr. Jacob Almeida and his staff for their excellent and compassionate care through the years and also to Nancy’s good friend and caregiver, Helen Jenkins.
