Nancy Murle Long, 91, of Gloucester, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2024. Nancy was born on March 23, 1933 in Florida to the late Getzen and Dorothy Farnell. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence James “Buster” Long Sr. She and Buster traveled the United States for many years with Buster’s job before settling in Gloucester in the mid-1980s. Nancy worked at the Gloucester Emporium for many years and made many friends while there. Nancy was also preceded in death by her sister, Louise Hobbs (M.D.); son, Clarence James Long Jr. and wife Beverly and their daughter Brandy. Nancy is survived by her daughter, Gayle Roman (Thomas); granddaughter, Amanda Witt (Tucker); sister, Billie Hay (John); son, Michael Long (Becky); several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Inurnment will be private. Nancy’s family would like to thank the staff at Charter Senior Living of Williamsburg and the hospice nurses with Traditions Health who took care of Nancy in her final days.
