A memorial service for Nancy Gillespie, 76, of Ware Neck, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, May 5, in Apostles Lutheran Church, Gloucester. She died July 13, 2018. A luncheon will precede the service at 12:30.

She was a member of Apostles Church. It was she and her husband, Vernon, who made it possible for the congregation to worship in the Masonic building in Gloucester when the church was first formed. 

Survivors include her two children, John and Patricia, and two sisters, Susan Naanes of Beaverton, Oregon, and Martha Kay of Ridgeville, South Carolina.

Her ashes were taken to Hammond, Illinois, and buried next to her husband.
