Nancy Comer O’Ferrell, 84, of Greensboro, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2019, in Gloucester County after an extended illness.

A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11 2019, at Mt. Hope United Church of Christ. Interment followed at Guilford Memorial Park, Greensboro.

Nancy was born on Oct. 30, 1934 in Alamance to the late Dennis Ervin Comer and Mattie Varner Comer.

Nancy was a longtime member of Mt. Hope United Church of Christ and a current member of Locust Grove United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her sisters, Helen Wiles, Maxine Whitley, Thelma Davis, and brother, Dennis Comer.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Ralph O’Ferrell; daughter, Roxanne O’Ferrell Yarina and husband Frank; sisters, Dot Albertson, Zelma Bowden, and Marie Jones; brothers, Bill Comer and wife Carol and Jim Comer and wife Eloise, and granddaughters, Amber Eberhart and Brooke Yarina.

The family received friends from 6-7:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, 2019, at Forbis & Dick North Elm Street Chapel, 1118 N. Elm Street, Greensboro, N.C. 27401.
