Mythic Mathews, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, at Mathews Memorial Library, is the library’s inaugural Comic-Con event for the whole family. “Working with Jersey’s Cards & Comics, Conquest Publishing, and many other community organizations and individuals, we hope to entertain families with dynamic displays, unique vendors, and eye-catching entertainment,” a release stated. “Mythic Mathews aims to be a place for all things fantasy and fun.” Demonstrations have been scheduled, including a celebrity guest speaker, and door prizes will be raffled throughout the event. Fan art submissions, due Friday, will be exhibited in the main library. Cosplay is strongly encouraged, and the library will hold a contest with winners in various age categories.
