The Mathews Volunteer Fire Department will hold a barbecue lunch fundraiser from noon to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4, at Cobbs Creek Station 4, 2852 Buckley Hall Road.

The meal includes a BBQ sandwich, baked beans, cole slaw and dessert; take-out only. A $15 donation is requested. Tickets are limited. Raffles and a “Fill the Boot” collection will be held during the event. Visit Mathews Lawn and Garden or Moughons Ace Hardware to purchase tickets.

The fundraiser is being held to aid a firefighter who was injured during a call, according to Rebecca Hudgins, who is helping organize the event.

Proceeds will be donated to him and his family.
