Chesapeake Bank and Beach Bum BBQ are sponsoring this year’s Mathews Volunteer Fire Department’s annual barbecue, with the bank contributing $1,500 for expenses and the restaurant providing cole slaw and bread for the supper. The barbecue will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, March 17, at Station 1 on Brickbat Road in Mathews. Take-outs are available, said Capt. Ricky Tomlinson.
