Tickets are available for the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society’s eighth annual Mutt Strut on the Catwalk fashion show and luncheon, which will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10, at the Abingdon Ruritan Club, Bena. All proceeds from the event support shelter animals awaiting adoption.

This year’s show, titled “The Wizard of Pawz,” celebrates 101 years of the GMHS, and happens to coincide with the 75th anniversary of the making of “The Wizard of Oz.”

Sponsorships are available ranging from $550 to $5,000.

In conjunction with the event, raffle tickets are being sold for several prizes, including the Redskins/Chicago Bears game at FedEx Field on Oct. 20, a sunrise balloon ride and an overnight stay at the Inn at Willow Grove in Orange.

Tickets are $5 each; five for $20; or 30 tickets for $100, and are currently available at the Gloucester-Mathews-Middlesex Animal Shelter on Jackson Lane, Gloucester, and will be available at various events before the show. Winning tickets will be drawn at the fashion show, and winners do not need to be present to win. All proceeds from raffle ticket sales go to support the animals.

Fashions will be provided by Lili’s of Ghent in Norfolk, which donates a portion of its sales to GMHS. The fashion show’s runway finale, featuring professional models from Lili’s, and some local residents, accompanied by the shelter’s animal stars, will be set to music from “The Wizard of Oz.”
