Music on Maple, a biannual event to support the Mathews Historical Society and Mathews County Visitor and Information Center, will be held at 6 p.m. Friday in the Mathews Library Courtyard and Thomas James Store. Headliner Nature’s Child is a six-piece reggae band based in Virginia Beach. It has opened for reggae greats such as Steel Pulse, Burning Spear, Third World, and many others. Mathews County’s singer/songwriter Hunter Owens will perform during the set breaks. Food will be available from On the Flip Side food truck, and beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. Tickets for the concert are $30, including one beverage, and are available at the Mathews County Visitor and Information Center, 239 Main Street. They will be available at the door while they last.
