The Thomas Hunter Middle School Seahawk Band traveled to Hampton May 2 to participate in the Music in the Parks competition. Out of 11 Class A middle school bands, the THMS seventh grade intermediate band placed seventh, and the sixth grade beginning band placed sixth. Both received Excellent ratings from the judges. You can still hear this year’s Seahawk bands in action at the Mathews schools spring concert (shared with the Blue Devil Bands and String Orchestra) tonight, Thursday, May 15, at 7 o’clock in the Harry M. Ward Auditorium at Mathews High School.
