The Mathews Historical Museum will have a Christmas holiday “Soup & Shop” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 11 and 12, at the museum on Main Street. Visitors will be able to purchase a cup of corned beef chowder while shopping in the museum’s Retail Shoppe. Masks and social distancing will be observed. Cups of chowder will be $3 on-site, while carry-home chowder by the quart will be $8. Participants are asked to place chowder orders in advance at www.mathewsvahistoricalmuseum.org. Orders must be received by 6 p.m. Monday. Accepting donations The museum is accepting donations of “lightly-used treasures” for the holiday celebration and sale.
